i have pearl and im not so sure if i should get platinum i know the playthrough is different but honestly is there a point?

Platinum is better, and most of the Wifi Events are for Platinum rather than Pearl and Diamond. The sprites of some of the Pokémon have changed, and there area few other cool features. The story is basically the same. Unless you don't wanna play the story through again, get it. I have it, and I prefer it over my Pearl version.

i got platinum about 3 weeks after completein diamond and i must say the graphics are better and the distortion world is amazing so i would reccomend platinum and also you can get pokemon that you cant get in diamond and pearl without migrating eg.tropius,
