Fairies

So we got used to the new faries for a little while but what do you think? Was the type a nice addition to the game or was it their worst idea yet? I'm not asking if some of the fairies will be ou threats like togekiss and azumaril but if the type as a whole was a good addition based on its pros and cons with the other types.

I like the type and the idea, but I hate the name.

I think there we defiently be yet least one fairy in OU due to the amount of dragons there are. It will make it hard for a STAB Outrage to threat many (Bar steel). But I do think they need to have some cooler fairies they are a little too cute, just because their fairies doesn't mean they need to be cute...

I don't like the name, but it's a nice boost to stuff like Mawile.

Fairies were made to counter dragons and fighting attacks that have been very OP during the 2nd half of gen 5. Its a good idea, however they are forgetting 1 thing and that is: GENESECT HAS RETURNEDDDD!!!!!

So fairies you can sit cho ass down. We'll talk when Genesect goes back to uber (if he goes to uber).

He'll go uber on December 21, 2013, the Mayans were off a year.

this nigga hangs with Acreus and Kyogre aka the best mons in the game. It has higher usage than mewtwo and rayquaza IN UBERS. Who needs fairies when you have this godly mon on your side?

Dragon and fighting attacks became a threat in 5th gen when they locked genesect up and before he was released. When he was around, I forgot dragon was even a type.

tbh, surprised fortress is still up that high since defog is better now and that thing is set up bait.

Lock this bug up ASAP ROCKY.

Also in other news people were too afraid of Deoxys-D and sent my MVP back to uber which I believe is an amazing decision because I mean what the hell did I need him for anyway I love running Custap Skarm on setup teams because its the only viable (JK) option (lol).

Recent sightings confirm Genesect is still derping around freely, Smogon committee is still content that it has brought justice and balance so far in gen 6.

Genesect is blasting to this song every night while he was in prison.




Now that he's free, he's looking to revenge all the mons that wanted him gone. #everymon

I dont know about Talonflame, its too hard to manage, it will most likely be OU, but not top 10 material. Genesect is for sure gonna be up there and maybe aegislash.

guess your right. its weakness to rocks and being completely walled by heatran is kinda tough for it but I get the feeling it might get superpower when the better tutors come out in the next game. Think thats literally the only move its lacking.

Its not about getting walled by heatrans, scizor gets walled by tran too....Even if Talonflame gets superpower its not gonna be any better. It needs a new type, a type that it wont be weak to rocks.

Mega Latias is Dragon/Fairy with the ability Multiscale (Stats: 80/80/110/110/180/140)

Fairy is amazing on latias, its now immune to dragon and no longer weak to dark meaning ttar can no longer trap it.

mega latias sounds sick. Definatly gonna be an awesome defogger now. Latios is gonna be wreaking again too but with it cant abuse its draco as much tho. All I see are mega latios pics tho. cant find a single mega latias. weird

I still have yet to see the power behind Genesect, I've never liked the Bug/Steel combo. 4x weaknesses are always terrible and I can't find a role for him that something else doesn't do better. If you can show me a good build for Gene, I'll try to use it, but, IMO, he is way overrated.

Also, I don't think Aegislash will go to ubers. He is too slow to fit in with ubers (IMO, his slowness is a major strength) and he doesn't have any extremely great typing or ability. OU for him.

The characteristics of an ideal sweeper are:
High speed (or a speed boosting move), good typing, good ability, not weak/resists to most priorities, hard to revenge kill, excellent attacking stats, wide movepool, unpredictability, and as little counters as possible.

Now tell me which one of these doesn't fit Genesect. To me if a pokemon excels at all of that, its deadly.

The question should be "what set is best for my team?" Genesect is master at most of its sets. Here are some:

Scarfer- Genesect is the best scarfer, and applies to ubers as well. Scarf Genesect is technically a mon with 2 choice items (scarf + band/specs depending on download)

Set up sweeper- Rock Polish Genesect is probably the best set-up sweepers out there. Hard hitting special attacks are really, really hard to wall. RP on a specially based mon with the typing, movepool and atk stats like genesect is just asking to get ban.(Landorus and Gensect were sent to ubers because of this). Genesect also has the best set up move Shift Gear and a best priority move- Extreme Speed if you wanna make it a physical sweeper.

Lead-  I've seen sash Genesect leads with 4 attacks including Extreme Speed. This set counters other leads extremely well and can get you off to a good start. This set works because you can trick people into thinking that you are a standard scarf Genesect lead and when they switch to a mon that can take your previous attack, you can smack them with another attack. #freekill #verypowerfulset

Please note that I don't overrate any mons nor I suffer from the "myfavoritepokemon" syndrome. I judge a mon based on its performances, and I can assure you that Genesect is an amazing mon if used right. The possible reasons for you not having success with Genesect could be issues with your team's synergy or perhaps you're not using the right moves or maybe just lack of experience with it.

Mega Latias may become almost mandatory...

Genesect is honestly one of the best, if not THE best pokemon in the game right now. Movepool is huge, stats are good and its typing is actually one of the best in the game (lol scizor) Most pokemon can't do it's job at all.

Gengarnite is on trail, not gengar, and yes I think it will be uber.

Very True. Do you know how many mons out there want to be like genesect?

When Genesect got banned, scarf jirachi became one of the top scarfer and the moves are - uturn, ironhead, icepunch, trick. #Wannabegenesect

Landorus became specially based with RP+3 attacks or 3attacks+uturn  #wannabegenesect (apparently he does a pretty good job at imitating genesect and got banned)

you know, Im surprised more people arent hating on megaa kanga. Mega gengar has a nasty strategy but its beatable. But kanga can wreck teams easily at +2 and if it somehow gets a speedboost bp from scolepede, its a monster. at least to me it is

Mega Kanga is based yo. It doesnt need speed boosts to wreck teams. It has more bulk than a celebi, I used kangaskhan all the time, like 30 secs ago lol. Funny how you brought that up.
