The government shutdown

So yea. The government over here is going to shut down because the republicans refuse to let obamacare go through. So that means because a bunch of people cant agree on anything, all but the most essential government funded programs in the country will shut down. Not exactly sure what to expect but hopefully everything will turn out alright. So whats your opinions on the government shut down?

The essentials are still running, such as law and order and the military. However, less essential things, such as upkeep and the national parks are shut down.

For instance, the Smithsonian is shut down.

The shutdown is from the fact that we can't agree on how far in debt we are allowed to go with our budget and it's illegal to have a government without a budget. This has only happened one other time, with Clinton, and this instance is mainly due to ObamaCare.

What terrifies me, however, is that the new proposed budget was 17.8 trillion, where it used to be 16.6 trillion. The biggest portion of that is debted to China, and the only real way we pay that is through taxes and a ponsai-scheme. If China were to ask for their money back, we would have to tax every American 100% of income for 10 years to pay it off, so we would effectively be forced to deny. This could potentially launch WWIII, and military-wise, ATM, we are 5-6 years ahead in technology to them, however they outnumber us 10,000 to 1 in soldiers. If we didn't launch an attack and attempted to pay the debts, we would be crushed economically, the US dollar would mean nothing and anyone could march over and take us over.

Also, another reason we still stand a chance as for national defense is the 2nd amendment, which saved our ass in WWII. Japan considered a full blown attack after Pearl Harbor, but realized that most civilians could hold their own because of their firearms. Americans spend 6 billion dollars a year on sports such as football, baseball, etc. We spend 7 billion on firearms.

This is why I fear Obama's attempts to downsize the military and take away the 2nd amendment, because those are the only things standing between us and China. 314 people control the entire USA, a good chunk of them spending over half their time campaigning to be re-elected rather than trying to make important decisions.

I am terrified of America's future in my lifetime, I have no idea the country I will end up living in. I hope and pray it is one that I can stand.
