The Nuzlocke Challenge (or Pokémon Hard Mode)

I do not take any credit for this image, but it is a very easy way to explain the basic rules of the Nuzlocke Challenge:

Other rules that should be / are generally used:
No breeding
Always knock out legendaries
You can use event Pokémon (by this I mean the eevee you get from Bill in Gold, or the Eevee you can get in Celadon City in the 1st gen)
You can catch the first pokémon on a route/area that you haven't caught before (this way you won't end up with 50 bidoof or whatever) If a Pokémon dies, you still can't catch another one of it.
If you white-out (lose all Pokémon in one battle), Game Over.

Additional Rules to make it harder:
No items
Either no Pokémon Centre visits or limited amount of visits (like once per town)
Only catch Pokémon if you don't already have 6 (so no spare Pokémon in the PC)
Don't use your starter

The point of this is to make Pokémon games more of a challenge. I hope some of you will take up this challenge, and will use this thread to post about your journey. I plan on uploading a nuzlocke of probably Pokémon Platinum to the forum's youtube channel, which should be entertaining.

So far I have suffered most of my losses to critical hits, excluding George, who was killed by a wild Miltank that used Bide when I used Rollout. Rachel was finally defeated after trooping from the start by Pryce. The rest were all in training when defeated, except Bellatrix who was part of my team.

Hopefully my team will be able to take down the Elite Four in memory of my lost pokes, who will never be forgotten

im using these rules:
1. pokemon faints = dead.
2. have to catch first pokemon i see on a route [i cant catch copys but i can go back to the route and catch non copys]
3. kill ledgendary pokemon
4. can only use pokemon center 150 times in the whole game
5. can only use max potion or lower
6. only 2 backup pokemon in pc at a time
7. have to nickname pokemon

will be easy on myself im playing firered and im fighting gary and forgot the potion so if ilose here it does not count

Hey, I'll take that challenge. Count me in for Pokemon Platinum. Ill post my first update in a week.

Here are the rules im following and my progress so far.
1. You may only capture the first Pokemon you encounter in each new area you explore(if you faint the first Pokemon you may not catch another one.)
2. If one of your Pokemon faints, you must release it(if it faints, it ‘dies’)
3. You must nickname all your Pokemon.
4. No breeding.
5. Always knockout Legendaries.
