Inspiration [Short Story]

A composer living in the big city needed a new piece of music for dedication of his late wife, but he required inspiration.

Being in the big city, it was always loud and he had no chance to get the inspiration he needed. The composer decides to move to the outback country where his parents owned a farm by themselves. His parents permitted him to stay in the main bedroom since they were on holiday for at least another two weeks. He moves in the farm house the next day.

Still not getting the inspiration he desired, an idea pops in his head. He will record himself sleeping to see what sounds happen whether outside in the farm or his sleeping sounds. That night, he locked the front door, sets the recorder, places it down on the stool next to his bed and goes to sleep.

The next day he wakes up, looks over at the recorder anxiously waiting to hear the noises it recorded. Some dogs bark, wind blowing and some snoring. Being a bit disappointed at what he's hearing, he gives up hope and reaches to turn off the recorder, just as his finger touches the button he hears something different.

He hears from the recorder that the front door of the house is unlocked and opened, followed by some footsteps and something dragging along the ground.
