Tournament Ideas/Suggestions for 2010

Ok so its a new year and we want to start off with some new ideas for future tournaments this year,2010. Last year we had a few good tournaments, some that weren't successful, and this year I'm hoping we can host more tournaments and give out more prizes than last year! So I made this topic for you guys to give some new ideas/suggestions for tournaments that we can host. Last time we had quiet a few interesting options including; UU tourney, Mixed tier tourney, Region tourney, Roulette tourney, Baby tourney, Word tourney, Color tourney, Weather tourney, Theme based tourney, and Mono-type tourney. We succesfully finished Baby tourney, UU tourney, Mono-typed tourney, and Region tourney last year. This year I want us to aim for different types of tournaments we haven't had! So post your ideas and suggestions so we can start a poll to see what tourney were gonna have next and in the future!

Opposite Tourney

Your team consists of two types. One of those types is weak to the other. i.e. a team of fire pokemon and water pokemon

Slight problem with that idea Masq, every Pokémon is based off an animal.

acctually ray i have an idea....i have been working on it for some time....its called the Chrono cup ( chris knows about it) its a series of tournaments (8 in all) and the winners from each tournament may enter the chrono cup (total of 8 contestants list of tournaments

1.breeder cup= NFE (not fully evolved) tourny

2. professor cup= region tourny, you know make a team from one region

3, moderator= pokemon have to be above a certain weight

4. no second chance= 1v1 pokemon battle

5 .partners in crime= 2v2 pokemon battle

6. weather = weather teams eg sunny day team

7, admin= word tourney

8, rayquaza= a team beginning with the same letter....eg lunatone lucdisc ludicolo ladien latias and lantrun,

grand final chrono cup= a normal 6v6 lv 100 battle no ubers or hacks tho

its just an idea, we can use it as a basic outline for a bigger idea...

Chrono that may take a while lol,8 tourneys to determine who's in a 9th tourney 0.o

Anyways,only post new ideas for tournaments,not ones from the past because I will automatically put the past ideas in the new poll.

there are ssome diffrent ones the wight tourney, pokemon have to be above or below a certain wight. 1v1 tourney ( of corse a few rules will be made to make it fair," i changed breeders tourney to NFE. 2v2 double....some new they also sound interesting ..

and isn;t that not cool it will take a while but yet least we get constant tourneys going,,,,not like a few months gap, and it makes it more interesting to win, yea prizes aswell for winning but not as big as the overall prize....

Ok but it shouldn't be a tournament based on just you chrono >.>
Besides,this year I'm planning on having constant tourneys too.

fine it doesnt have to be about me lmao...and the chrono cup, but i still say we should have a grand final like a "rayquaza grand final" chrono tourney because funzies..

but i suggest

1) weight tourney (see first post)
2) 1v1
3) NFE
4) special sweeper toruney lmao/ vise versa for pysical
5) hight tourney pokemon have to be a above or below a certan hight...

these sounds fun...

Self Destruct Tourney

All of our Pokemon must have Explosion, or Self destruct. Whoever has the last Pokemon standing, wins!

Standard Tournament,I guess its alright.Haven't had one of those in 2 years lol.

Ok lmao I think some of these ideas are going overboard lol. How about a legends tourny? Only legends allowed? Have we ever had an uber tourny? I think you did before I came here but it was canceled.

Hmm sounds cool,A mixed tier tourney would be cool too.Keep going with these good ideas!No stupid ones like explosion tourney...

ok my idea is basically having a list of pokemon you can use in six catgories with a number of pokemon in each category
and you can only pick one from pokemon from each category. eg 1 2 3 4 5 6

you can only pick one pokemon from 1 2 3 4 5 6 from a list of them and this is your team
pick what suits and hope for the best.

I also have a few new suggestions;

NU tourney:A tournament of the NU tier pokemon.There are 150 different Pokemon to choose from,more than OU, BL and UU combined.

Tag team tourney:A tournament of 2 people on a team,each winner gets points based on the Pokemon they had left.The team with the most points advances.

Mixed Rules Tourney:A tournament with a mixed set of rules for each round.For example,round 1 Standard, round 2 Monotype, round 3 Roulette, round 4 Region etc.

I hope you guys like them.

The Tag Team Tourney seems fun ray.


How about..
Elimination Tourny - Every round, the next top 5-10 most used Pokemon in OU are banned for the rest of the tournament. [i.e. Round one, top 10 OU Pokemon are banned, Round 2, top 20 OU Pokemon are banned, etc.]

Generation 4 Tourny - It's a new year, use only the newest Generation.

Tag team seems fun! Lets try that?Would be intresting.

How about Move Tourney?

Every trainer must use moves only that gets STABs for the Pokemon.

Hah,Its funny because yesterday was looking through smogon and saw a noSTAB tourney xD

That's a good idea. Only moves that don't get STABs for your Pokemon.

I like the Mixed Rules Tourney idea - it'd test everyone's skill and strength in more than one area and would make the tourney more interesting.
