| when i ev train, lets say for attack, do i have to battle the same pokemon to get the extra ev when i level up or what? for example, i beat 1 shinx (1 attack), a bibarel (2 attack), and a snover (1 attack). will i still get the extra attack ev when i level up or do i have to battle 4 snovers (just an example) to get the extra attack ev? | |

| You don't have to battle the same Pokemon. If you defeat a Pokemon, you get the EV's it gives. It doesn't matter if they're different. | |

| This thread is posted in the wrong section, moved to the correct section.
Edit: While im here ill tell you what i know about EV training =P.
- Every pokemon gives EVs when you faint it AND your Pokemon gains experience. - The EVs stay on your Pokemon forever unless you use Berries that deduct EVs. - Maximum total EVs is 510, but maximum for one stat is 255 (It's better to ahve 252 since every 4 EVs = 1 stat point, and since 255 is not divisible by 4, you would have wasted 3 EV points). - There are items that give extra EVs, such as Power Items or Macho Brace - PKRS is a "disease" that doubles the amount of EVs you get after gaining experience for fainting a Pokemon.
That's all i can think of.. if i think of anything else i'll just edit. lol
Where I EV: HP - Route 201, Bidoofs (1 EV) Atk - Lake Valor, Super Rod Seaking (2 EV) and Gyarados (2 EV) Def - Iron Island Mines, Graveler (2 EV), Onix (1 EV) and Steelix (2 EV) SpA - Resort Area's Pond, Golduck (2 EV) SpD - Route 223, Tentacruel (2 EV) and Mantyke (1 EV) Spe - Route 225, Spearow (1 EV), Fearow (2 EV), Rattata (1 EV) and Ratticate (2 EV)
Hope that helps. | |

| Add these: - EV-deducting berries will lower the EVs in that stat to 100, then by 10 afterwards. - Vitamins (HP Up, Iron, Carbos, Calcium, etc.) raise EVs in a certain stat by 10, but they cannot be used when the Pokemon's EVs in that stat are 100 or more. - You cannot EV train a level 100 Pokemon without vitamins, and only then in increments of 10. - The stat boosts gained from EVs are distributed on the way to level 100, so if you EV train a level 99 Pokemon and it levels up, the stats will be gained instantly. - Rare Candies don't give you any EVs. | |

[edit](It's better to have 252 max since every 4 EVs = 1 stat point at level 100, and since 255 is not divisible by 4, you would have wasted 3 EV points).[/edit] And don't forget about PokéRus - its probably the main source of free EVs. | |
